Hitting Europe, North America, and the Middle East in October, Diane von Furtenberg’s new fragarnce – simply called “Diane” – will be the CFDA president’s first since the ’70s-era Tatiana thanks to a new partnership with beauty licensee ID Beauty.

“I wanted a perfume that reflected womanhood—what I know, what I feel about being a woman—and the power that we all have that we can be the woman we want to be,” von Furstenberg says. “I feel like in the past 10 years, people have forgotten the magic that a perfume can have, and the power that it has. And therefore, I definitely wanted to do something powerful and seductive, without being aggressive.”

Described as a “floral woody” scent and designed by Givaudan perfumer Aurélian Guichard, Diane contains dominant notes of violet and frangipani, or what von Furstenberg calls “the yin and the yang.”

The scent will be sold in the United States exclusively through Sephora, Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom. The designer is also expected to launch skin care and makeup lines as part of her new beauty deal—stay tuned!
